It could be the nights drawing in close or the smell of bonfires and fallen leaves but what is for sure is that I'm beginning to feel distinctly autumnal. Pea coats, tartan scarves, russet cashmere and berry stained lips are the perfect swaddle but what for one's nest!?
It's commonplace to swap sandals for ankle boots come October but aside from the Christmas trimmings most homes go unchanged as the seasons roll from summer to autumn to winter and to spring.
These times are surely an opportunity to refresh and revamp? Personally, I love the idea of idea of changing art and decoration seasonally. Rich, warm colours on the walls in these cooler months, complemented with tactile soft furnishings (velvet, wool, fur etc.) You could even change your window dressings...simple linen roman blinds for the summer and full, floor length curtains for your home's 'winter wardrobe'!
